Fraunhofer Forum Energy Future
Fraunhofer-Allianz Energie
As part of E-world 2026 energy & water (10–12 February 2026, Messe Essen), the leading meeting place for the European energy industry, the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance once again invites you to the Fraunhofer Forum Energy Future.
→ Wednesday, 11 February 2026 | from 10:00 a.m.
→ Messe Essen | Congress Center West | Room Brussels, 2nd floor
This exclusive accompanying event offers the opportunity to learn about the latest results of Fraunhofer energy research in compact sessions directly on the exhibition grounds and to exchange ideas with leading experts and decision-makers in the industry.
The forum is divided into two sessions, each addressing key technological and systemic levers for a climate-neutral, economical, and resilient energy future:
Session 1 – Digital Energy Worlds: Data Ecosystems, Security, AI, and Intelligent Infrastructures | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
This session demonstrates how digital technologies, data spaces, security architectures, and AI are fundamentally transforming the energy sector. The presentations range from data ecosystems for sector coupling and smart-meter PKI and SSI concepts to semantic technologies for the digital battery passport. In addition, modular control systems and innovative applications such as wallbox inspection and low-voltage grid solutions will be presented.
A break for professional exchange will take place between the sessions.
Session 2 – Transformation as an Enabler: Innovative Energy Concepts for Industry and Energy Systems | 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Session 2 focuses on technological transformation pathways for industry, grids, and infrastructures. Central topics include green, decentralised energy carriers such as ammonia and highly efficient power grids that enable stable and resilient energy distribution through intelligent control. In addition, a model for CO₂ infrastructure will be presented as a foundation for a climate-neutral energy system. The contributions illustrate how these technologies jointly support the sustainable transformation of industry and the overall energy system.
