Energy-Efficient Neighborhoods

Fraunhofer IOSB-AST

In this demonstrator, a virtual neighbourhood with 5 buildings is depicted. It consists of 4 residential buildings with 36 residential units each and different technical equipment. In addition to PV systems, heat pumps, heat and electricity storage systems, conventional energy generators such as gas condensing boilers are also installed. The data base is formed by synthetic load profiles as well as standard load profiles and forecast data from external weather forecasts. The institute's own office building, which supplies real measurement data from the building management system, is also included. In the calculations, controllable loads such as the electricity demand for electric vehicles and the use of electrical and thermal storage units are considered. On the other hand, non-influenceable loads such as the electricity and heating requirements of households are considered. A connection to the public grid is available.

The graphical interface shown is connected to the energy management system and receives new data every 15 minutes. The energy consumption and the energy supply are displayed in different representations. In addition, the composition of the electrical and thermal loads is visualised depending on the respective consumers and generators. From this data, various key figures are calculated, which enable the evaluation of the energy system.
